Goldman Sachs' head of engineering in Singapore is leaving. So is its global head of FICC operations
Some senior non-front office people are leaving Goldman Sachs. The departures are entirely coincidental.
In the first and most consequential exit, we understand that Faisal Shamsee is leaving in Singapore.

Shamsee, who was a partner at Goldman Sachs and the co-head of Singapore, ran the bank's engineering hub in the island state. He spent nearly 25 years at the firm, having joined as an intern in 2001. Goldman Sachs declined to comment on his disappearance.
In London, meanwhile, Anna Chadderton, a managing director and the global head of fixed income currencies and commodities is also understood to be on her way. Goldman Sachs also declined to comment upon her imminent disappearance from the firm. Chadderton herself didn't respond to a request to comment, but it's understood that she left of her own volition and is taking some time out.
The exits come as Goldman Sachs and other banks are looking at disseminating the use of AI through their businesses. Goldman Sachs is understood to be making rolling job cuts in 2026, but there is no implication that Shamsee or Chadderton are among the victims.
Shamsee's last post on LinkedIn refers to a visit from John Madsen, Goldman's global chief technology architect. He said Madson "facilitated insightful cascades on key priorities like AI, Cloud and Data, alongside engaging discussions on practical applications and strategic alignment between global direction and local execution." Someone else will be executing locally in the future.
