The Top Ten Ideal Employers for Rewarding Careers, 2024
The 8,000 people that voted in our Ideal Employer survey are a pretty consistent bunch: they love JPMorgan. The bank topped our global ranking, North America ranking, APAC ranking, and even our ranking for women.

There are a few categories that JPMorgan hasn't won, however. Our survey also included a number of qualitative categories to better distinguish prospective Ideal Employers. These categories allowed voters to rate their chosen employer on a scale of one to ten on a number of qualitative statements, such as ones related to compensation.
In our rewarding careers category, employers were rated for their performance on the following qualitative statements:
- This company offers interesting work.
- This company has exceptional colleagues.
- This company offers work with meaning.
- This company offers a good long-term career.
Big Four firm KPMG tops our rewarding careers in financial services ranking. The firm scores highly across most of our qualitative categories, but ranks highest for its long-term prospects with our respondents.
That’s hardly surprising. Although the Big Four are known to have tough hours, with some variation according to roles, their hours are often more reasonable than those of banks.
Jane Street comes second in this category. The firm has been noted as hiring “unusually brilliant” and humble individuals. Jane Street has also been described as an "anarchic commune": hierarchy there is minimal, and individuals are paid for communal rather than individual achievements.
