Nomura's massive commodities and FX hire arrived in Singapore in the nick of time
Herr Ling Yeo is back in the game, and the game has never been more complicated.
Ling Yeo has just arrived at Nomura in Singapore, where he is a managing director in the Singapore office. Sources at the bank say he manifested himself there today.
Ling Yeo has been on gardening leave for the past three months after leaving ANZ in January, and has therefore missed the volatility created by war in the Middle East. We reported that he was probably joining Nomura in February.
Ling Yeo was head of global FX and commodities at ANZ. Nomura doesn't have a commodities operation and he is thought to be replacing Hoe Lon Leng, the bank's former head of FX and flow rates trading, who left in February.
Now that Ling Yeo is on the floor at Nomura, the expectation is that his friend and former colleague, Anshu Sidher, the former global head of markets at ANZ, will turn up too.
Nomura didn't respond to a request to comment.
